Jet drilling
Jet drilling is a kind of drilling method that uses the hydraulic action of the high-speed jet generated when the drilling fluid passes through the jet bit nozzle to improve the mechanical penetration rate.
Balanced pressure drilling
In the process of drilling, a drilling method that always protects the wellbore pressure equal to the formation pressure is called balanced pressure drilling.
Soft shut-in
It is a shut-in method to open the throttle valve first, then close the BOP, and then close the throttle valve tightly when overflow shut-in is found.
Because this can ensure that the shut-in wellhead casing pressure value does not exceed the allowable wellhead casing pressure value, and ensure the safety of well control. Once the pressure in the well is too large, the flow can be controlled and blowout can be conducted.
Directional well
Directional well is a drilling method that makes the well bore reach the target layer along the pre-designed well deviation and orientation. There are three main types of profiles: (1) two sections: vertical section+oblique section; (2) Three-section type: vertical section+inclined section+stable section;(3) Five-segment type: upper vertical section+inclined section+stable section+inclined section+lower vertical section.
Cluster well
Cluster wells refer to the drilling of several or even hundreds of wells on a well pad or platform. The wellhead of each well is less than several meters apart, and the bottom of each well extends to different directions. Cluster wells have the following advantages: they can meet some special needs of drilling engineering, such as emergency wells for unifying blowout;It can speed up oilfield exploration and development and save drilling costs; It is convenient for the centralized management of oil wells after well completion, reduces the gathering and transportation process, and saves the investment of people, money and materials.
